Go Under The Cloak Of Invisibility: Are Invisible Braces Right For You?

Health & Medical Blog

Everybody yearns to have a beautiful smile with straight, white teeth. Unfortunately, achieving this perfect smile isn't always easy. For most people, teeth start crowding and overlapping during teen years, and if you don't get braces to correct these problems, they can get worse as you get older. When you think of getting braces to correct crooked teeth, you're probably picturing the traditional metal braces that have been used for decades. Fortunately, there are newer, more modern ways to straighten teeth, such as invisible braces. Invisible braces align your teeth with an invisible retainer, hence their name. While invisible braces might be more attractive than traditional metal braces, they aren't for everyone. Find out if you're a candidate for invisible braces by using the guide below.

Consider your age

Age is important when considering invisible braces because these braces tend to work best on people whose jaws are already developed. For this reason, traditional braces still remain the best option for children who still have developing jaws and teeth. If you're an older teen or adult, however, invisible braces are a great option because they allow you to smile regularly without anyone knowing you have braces.

Your teeth only have mild crowding

Invisible braces work great for aligning crooked teeth, correcting spacing issues, and closing gaps. But if you have severe crowding or bite problems, such as an overbite or under bite, it might not be the best option for you. Invisible braces are limited in how much they can correct bite problems and severe crowding because of their mobility and the fact that the retainer isn't tightened regularly like traditional braces are.

You're willing to put in the work

Invisible braces require a lot more discipline than traditional braces since they can be removed. Having the ability to remove your invisible aligner is a plus, but it can also be a negative. If you take out your invisible aligner too often or forget to put it in, you won't see the results you're looking for. When your invisible braces are in place, they slowly shift the position of your teeth, but that can't happen if you don't wear them as directed.

Straight teeth don't only make for an attractive smile, they can also help prevent tooth decay and promote oral health. Whether you go with invisible braces or traditional braces, choosing the best option for you will help you achieve the beautiful smile you've always dreamed of. Hype up Your Hearing

I knew that my hearing wasn’t as good as it had once been, but I was still upset when my doctor told me that I had a significant hearing loss in both ears, and that I was going to need hearing aids if I wanted to participate more fully in my day to day life. But then I started researching hearing aids. I was thrilled to find out that there were small, barely visible aids that could help me hear without marking me as hearing impaired on first glance. Even better, the hearing aids were much more advanced than I’d thought. The ones that I chose can actually help cancel out environmental noise, like the clatter of a loud restaurant, so that I can focus on conversation with the waitress or the person across the table. My hearing aids have really improved my life.
